Mother tree tea, generally refers to the ancestors of certain varieties. In Icelandic village, about 30 ancient tea trees were introduced from Yiwu area by the Tusi of Mengku, Shuangjiang, during Chenghua period of Ming Dynasty. Some experts believe that these 30 tea trees are the ancestors of Mengku large-leaved species, so they are called mother trees. These tea trees can be regarded as the cherished objects of Lincang City's key protection.
